Brain Connection is a site with articles that apply the findings of brain science to education. http://www.brainconnection.com

 

Child Trauma Academy is the web site of the organization of the same name, which is a not-for-profit organization with a purpose to improve the lives of traumatized and maltreated children. It has very good links to resources about the brain as well as topics related to trauma. http://www.childtrauma.org/

 

Dana Foundation is a private philanthropy with principle interests in brain science, immunology, and the arts. http://www.dana.org/

 

Edge is an online “salon” for scientists and other intellectuals. There are columns on topics in neuroscience. http://www.edge.org

 

Families and Work Institute is the website for this organization. It is a non-profit research institute that studies the workplace, workforce, family, and community. http://www.familiesandwork.org/

 

Future of Children promotes effective policies and programs for children via providing timely information about research. This site (sponsored by Princeton University and the Brookings Institution) contains full text journal articles from The Future of Children . http://www.futureofchildren.org

 

MRI Study of Normal Brain Development is a site that posts the latest findings from this longitudinal study of typical brain development in children. http://www.brain-child.org/

 

Musica: the Music and Science Information Computer Archive is a site that contains many articles on music, the brain, and child development. http://www.musica.uci.edu

 

National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is the web page for this organization of Early Childhood Educators. Among other resources, it has an area called “Beyond the Journal” which is an archive of articles not published in the association's journal, Young Children . http://www.naeyc.org

 

National Child Care Information Center is a site sponsored by the U.S. Department of Heath and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families. http://www.nccic.org

 

National Institution of Neurological Disorders and Stroke is a site of the National Institute of Health. There is information on the brain on this site as well as information on neurological disorders and stroke. http://www.ninds.nih.gov/

 

National Network for Child Care (NNCC) is an outreach sponsored by Cooperative Extension services of Land Grant Colleges. It provides internet access to over 1000 publications and resources related to child care, which are both research based and reviewed. http://www.nncc.org

 

National Scientific Council on the Developing Child (NSCDC) is a multidisciplinary collaboration of researchers and scholars on early childhood development who provide summaries of research to date on topics of concern and suggest public policy initiatives to respond. http://www.developingchild.net

 

Neuroscience for Kids is a site about the brain for all ages that has lots of information and even some sound bites from the brain. http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/neurok.html

 

Project Implicit This is the site that has the Implicit Bias Tests that you can do on your personal computer.https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/

 

Scientific American has a web site with many science topics. Articles on the brain (including articles from Scientific American Mind ) can be located by clicking on Mind and Brain. http://www.sciam.com/

 

Secret Life of the Brain is a site of the Public Broadcasting Service. It was set up in conjunction with the production of the 5 part video series of the same name. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/brain

 

Share the Flame: Strategies for Growth, Development and Change is Debra Jenkins site that provides training and informational resources for individual and group development by employing “multicontextual perspectives” which can lead to improved “intercultural and cross cultural understanding and empowered communication skills….” http://www.shareflame.com/

 

Society for Neuroscience is the world's largest organization of scientists and physicians dedicated to understanding the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system. Their web site has useful materials for non-experts under: “About Neuroscience.” http://www.sfn.org

 

Talaris Research Institute is a “research to practice” organization in Seattle , WA whose mission is to support parents and caregivers in raising socially and emotionally healthy children. http://www.tolerance.org/

 

Teaching Tolerance: A Project of the Southern Poverty Law Center is a site “dedicated to reducing prejudice, improving intergroup relations and supporting equitable school experiences for our nation’s children.” http://www.talaris.org

 

Zero to Three is a site that is sponsored by the National Center for Infants, Toddlers, and Families. It has a resource called Brain Wonders, which provides information on early brain development.http://www.zerotothree.org
